Assessment:

The Programming Project is worth 20% your overall A-Level. This will be created as an individual peice of work and must be set by yourself.

Your work will be collected in a single document that evidences how your project has been completed starting with the initial brief through to final testing and evaluation

Presentation of your work is important as the work needs to clearly explain the development process in your work in order to acheive marks in the marking criteria.

Creating your Programming Project Proposal

You will need to create a PROPOSAL for your project to submit to your Teacher. Create a mind map that identifies the following branches in great detail:

  • Name of project
  • Stakeholders
  • Success Criteria
  • Platform to be used (PC, Smartphone, Tablet, Laptop)
  • Languages to be used (python, C, Java, JavaScript/ HTML)
  • Testing strategy

Suggested Elements for Programming Project:

  • Permanent data storage
  • Potential OO programming
  • Interfacing with Hardware/ Network
  • Exporting and linking with other software
  • Programs that learn and adapt over time
  • Games/ Physics
  • Extended logic chains
  • Use of libraries
  • Use of A-Level sorting/ Searching techniques
  • Combination of differing technologies
  • Expert systems
  • Simulators
